dilated pupil exam
I had no idea that this was a thing, and it had nothing to do with somehow making schoolchildren sit exams in an altered state…
anyway, the SpecSavers optometrist wanted me to have one of these, to get an even better idea of the health of my eyes.
at the time it wasn’t so bad – my eyesight was fuzzier when the falling blood sugar levels caused an issue. I didn’t particularly enjoy the light being shone in my eye… but the horrible part was walking home. The bright sunlight didn’t go too well with the artificially dilated pupils. All good now 😄
The good news was that they were able to confirm again that the diabetes appears to have not caused any damage to my eyes. phew!
It also gave me the perfect opportunity to get 5km of walking in too – so two birds, one stone, and all that!
